Someone broke into my car last night.
They tried to pry the back window hatch open.
Instead, they ended up busting out the entire window!
This is what we woke up to this morning.
Glass all over the place.
And much of it is fine powdery little shards.
All over the inside of the car and all over the driveway.
Guess what they stole out of the car?
A diaper bag.
That didn't even have diapers in it anymore.
I'm sure they were thinking it was a purse, with money.
Nope.
Instead they got ...
a pack of baby wipes, a pair of size 4T Cinderella panties and a cute little pink tee and shorts set (also size 4T), 3 tampons, a mini-first aid kit, my favorite lip gloss, a pair of nail clippers, and a box of Altoids.
I hope they're happy.
Here's what we get ...
damage that will cost $925 to repair.
We do not have $925. I don't know what we're going to do. But I have to have a car. So we'll find a way.
I sincerely hope that whoever did this finds their way to a much better path than they're on now.

Oh LINDA!!!!!!!!!
I'm SOOOO sorry!!!! You are much more generous than I. I would want to take a crow bar to them! Will insurance cover any portion of this or do you have a really high deductible? I know lots of us have gone with higher deducts to save money.
I think this kind of thing is only gonna get worse with all that's going on. Man.
I am so sorry Linda. What a bummer.
Oh no your favorite lip gloss? What a bummer!
Hope it gets fixed soon.
SO SORRY FRIEND. WHAT A WAY TO START YOUR DAY. THANK YOU LORD THAT YOUR HOME WAS KEPT SAFE, AND EVERYONE IN IT WAS NOT DISTURBED OR HARMED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
WISH I LIVED CLOSER SO I COULD HAVE HELPED YOU CLEAN UP THE MESS.
COFFEE AND GOOD CONVERSATION WOULD HAVE FOLLOWED.
HUGS TO YOU BLOG FRIEND.
Oh that sucks! Won't your insurance company pay for it?
That is just wrong. I hope those idiots are happy with themselves...shaking my fist to the sky!
You are so gracious and forgiving. I'm sorry this happened to you.
But look at those blossoming trees...so jealous...
OHHHH!!! What in the world is WRONG w/ people??? So sorry this happened to you...I've been there....I know EXACTLY how you're feeling...it sucks! so sorry!
This does suck. I understand your distress. I hope it all works out for you. I also hope those thieves get whats coming to them!
Oh Linda...
I'm so sorry this happened to you guys! I tell you, it does seem like they are always a step ahead! I'll pray for the Lord to provide quickly and that you'll have what you need. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Oh No! How upsetting! It would be horrible to walk out of your house, in a hurry of course because you were probably going somewhere, only to find that mess in your driveway!
I had to laugh at the list of stolen items, esp the tampons. I am sure that is NOT what they were hoping for! :D
Oh man that is horrible...I am so sorry that happened.
Oh man that is horrible...I am so sorry that happened.
That really stinks! I am so sorry. I'm just glad it wasn't credit cards or anything like that. You dont need identity theft to deal with on top of everything else. I hope you can fix it soon!
Oh Linda, I'm so sorry! These things are never o.k. and worse when cash is tight, which is when they always seem to happen. I will pray God gift you with exactly what you need. We feel your pain. Jen hydroplaned back in January and wrecked the Jeep we had just bought for only $1500 in August. Now we are car shopping. These trials are supposed to build character...why is it always easier to see that for someone other than yourself?! LOL
Oh Linda...that totally stinks.
Although I have to admit that I'm pretty impressed that you knew exactly what was in that bag!
If your auto insurance won't pay try your homeowners. Whichever has the lowest deductable (yes your car was parked at "your" home so it whould be covered.
Bummer, I can't beleive it. Well I am at least glad no one was hurt. Can't blame you for being mad and upset though.
From a practical standpoint...
Your comprehensive coverage (minus the deductible) will cover the repair of the vehicle. It's worth reporting the claim if your deductible is $500 or lower.
Your Homeowner's Insurance should cover the belongings, including the tampons. My hope is that you have replacement cost, in which case they will probably pay you depreciated value up front and then when you replace everything and produce receipts they will reimburse you up to the full value.
Yes, I'm an insurance agent. Nationwide is on your side.

OMG, my stomach is sick for you! What is WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!? You poor girl. I'm glad they only got panties, tampons and wipes. Too bad you didn't have anthrax or something in there! I'm so sorry...

I'm so sorry. We just had our back window on my Excursion replaced last week. (insurance deductible was only 200.00, the glass guy said it would have been around 900.00)
Our hydraulic things stopped working and my daughter dropped the door and it shattered all over her. She was fine, but it scared all of us.
It will be ok.
