Guess Who's in Town?

Look ... just look at who's in town ...

Doesn't that just make you want to smile?

Extreme Makeover Home Edition has hit Fresno.  They are building a house for a very deserving family.  I had heard on the local news that they were coming.  Yet it didn't fully register until today when we saw Ty Pennington!

Ok, well we didn't actually see Ty ...
but we saw the bus!

I am the parent sponsor for our homeschool group's student newspaper.  So we were at our planning meeting this morning when another mom told us that Ty and the gang were just up the street.  Today they knocked on the door and announced that this particular family had been chosen.  Saturday they will demolish the house and get started building.  On our way home we drove by to take a look.  Of course the street is completely blocked off, but we were able to see all the activity and the big ol' bus sitting in the street.

How exciting is that?

That is VERY exciting! You must do a follow-up post after Ty and crew have left your area. How awesome!

Very fun. Say hi to Ty for me. I wonder if he remembers me.

The house they did here...foreclosed upon. There are so many people here that are mad. Because the family put the house up as collateral for their home equity loan that they got to start a business...

How fun for you all! We were just talking about staking out Sears in hopes that we could see them shop. LOL

Incredible! Do you know the family? Wouldn't it be great if they were homeschoolers? Could that be possible? Let us know what you find out.

Oh Gosh! That is so NEAT! I have never run into anyone famous. (Well, unless you count Tiffany from Top Chef, but I don't think that really counts.) I wonder if you will get to see anyone on the show. And do you think you will be able to take pix of the house and the progress?

HI! Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for the kind words about my new job! Okay, now about Ty...let him finish his job...but when it looks like it's all wrapped up....just stick him in a box and ship him priority mail (COD of course) right to my door! Ha!

It is neat that the deserving family is in your area. That would be a cool thing to be a part of!
